Movie Review - Jab we Met

Boy Meets girl, falls in love, THE END.. Yawn.. old formula! But wait ! it aint the same! Mr.Imtiyaz has removed the cobwebs, dumped all rubbish and made the story spic and span. And sprayed lots of freshner too !

It is his directional ability coupled with tight editing that makes the movie oh-so- watchable.Add to that the performance of Kareena and Shahid. Not just the glamour doll and chocolate boy that we are used to. Both actors have evolved and matured & performed unbelievably. Ofcourse it isnt mother India or Black, but they both remain true to their characters, and thats good cinema isnt it?

So Aditya has hit the dumps and contemplates sucicide, when he meets Geet, a bubbly chatter box aboard a train. Through many twists and turns, they unfold their stories of heart-break(Adi - Ex GF) and plan to flee from home(Geet - BF). By the way who's that Anshuman anyway?

They reach Geet's home , flee together, Adi drops her at her Boy Friends place. The family hunts him down, for it thinks Geet's with him. The rest is for you to see.

It has some philosophical momemts, lots of fun and laughter, great music, beautiful cinematography. Shahid as a serious businessman is an absolute treat. He has grown, beyond doubt. One or both stand tall for awards this season. So does director Imtiyaaz Ali.

This is one feel good movie, Great for romantics, equally good for the sober minded. Do take out the popcorn! Enjoy!

The way the review is fashioned, it is sure to evince interest of anyone who's yet to see the movie.

Overall, nice narration coupled with a good and lucid style of writing. Just one observation... why you chose this rather not-so-new movie?
